So after my last lesson I've now got a better idea of how I'm going to gain the knowledge i need for my research module on the question "Can Mobile Apps Improve Photography". I am going to do a questionnaire as part of my primary research. I will find out what apps people are using currently. Then from that i will ask what the pros and the cons of this are. What is good about using these apps and asking the people if they think that maybe all these apps have ruined the originality of taking a picture with an actual camera. Though all these apps look good if you don't keep the copy of the original picture then that picture loses something as it is not original anymore ie something like instagram has a vintage look to it but it is edit and even though it looks good you have maybe lost something to it.
I will also some extra research on the current and most popular apps and see where these apps come from how did they start and what are the features of them are. Then all this will allow me to write up on the the question i have posed in the first place. I will also ask people who actually do or are interested in photography in what they think about apps and do they think that maybe the authenticity of a picture is down graded by mobile apps. I think this will be the best way of finding out the answer to my question. When i have found out what are the most popular apps i will do some research on the company and take notes from this and then compare this to the notes that i gained from my questionnaire. This is because that people will have different opinions on various apps so the research will help me look at how reliable the answers are.

A Video I Like
This is a video i really love watching. It is a song by the band "The Cribs" with the track Don't You Wanna To Be Relevant. I really enjoy this video as i love the how weird the imagery is and how the song relates to the video.
It is basically shows the band playing to an audience and then they slowly start decaying as the the video goes on. I think that the video symbolises musicians and bands that sell there "souls" on reality tv. It is a real good statment on the video is the very gory on the graphics of the video is very old school and if im being honest i've not really seen a lot of visuals like this videos. The band have done a lot of good videos such as "Mens Needs" and "You're Gonna Lose Us" but out of them i always find myself drown to this video for some reason

Two relevant posts for my research module
http://instagram.com/ and http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/mobile-app-reviews/8521837/Instagram-iPhone-app-review.html
I have looked at some information on Instagram. This is the current and most popular usage of an app on smart phones right now. It gives the user the chance to experiment with different colours, filters and various other things to give there pictures a different dynamic to them and really enhances a normal picture into something else. Also you can upload your pictures up to social sites such as facebook and twitter and means that you can now share your pictures with your friends and visa verse.
Its relevant because it is showing that users can now improve on a simple picture and make it look much better. The app is free and can be found on the i phone and on various smart phones. So this means you don't have to spend loads of money on camera to make a decent picture.
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/paper-camera/id443802549?mt=8
This is an app called paper camera. It is very unqiue app and it gives people who are interested in being more creative with their pictures and has very unusal take on pictures. It gives the user the chance to make pictures into cartoons, comic books, sketch and various other things. It gives people are maybe not all into pictures but gives them the chance to try something new.

Research Module(Mobile Technology For Creative Practice)
As part of my course there will be a research module on about how we can use mobile technology for creative practice. I have chosen to do photography and imagery on mobiles and how it has become easier to take more quality pictures. So my question is "How mobiles can improve photography" I will be looking at how the user can now make more use of apps on there phone to help them with taking pictures. So this is things such as editing the colours on the phone and various other things that mobiles can now do for you.
I will be researching on what the current apps there are for photography and looking at the future of it. For my research i will be looking on the Internet for these current apps, checking out mobile shops for what mobile phones are more designed for photography. then i will be asking people about what they use when they are taking photos and looking about how different demographics use different apps for there needs and then i can take the results and post them on line on my blog. I will also be looking at how people now use photography with there social networking sites and how they can now make more use of the skills that there mobile gives them now.
Most current mobiles have got a camera so i will look at the first type of cameras for mobiles and how they have developed over the last few years and how the use of smart phones has made it so much better for the user to develop skills and change the complex of a photo.
