Today we got feeback on our video for the QMC placement video. During the shoot i feel that nothing really went wrong but obviously it is always important to get feedback to see where things can be improved.

As I didn't do the edit it was also my first time seeing the video and straight away the first thing i picked up was the standard of the audio. I had used an external microphone for the video but in hind sight I think it would be more valuable to use a better external mic such as a radio microphone. Another thing I want to change about the edit is changing the pacing so have it mixed between the students and the staff as i feel the last part of the video is a long and if it is a bit more mixed we could first of all bring the time of the video down as well to about three and a half minutes. Another thing i would do is use the same lens for the straight on shots and cut aways as that way though out the video it keeps the same consistency.
When I pitched the video to a focus group to get their opinion I got similar feedback. Straight away it was brought up that the audio when the girls are talking is a bit quite and that the music can be a bit distracting from the important interview. The cut aways we have got are good but just need to be a bit more stabilised and maybe slowed down. Other things that can be changed are doing things such as colour grading and just changing the pacing of the video slightly.
But we did get positive feedback on the use of the music as keeping it with a fun kind of theme at the start it works. Our intro's for the girls in the interview are good and brings out the positive message for the course. The backgrounds are fun and interesting and but doesn't take the focus away from the people that are being interviewed.
